Traffic Operation on Deansgate – Keeping Our Roads Safe

Yesterday, officers carried out a proactive traffic operation on Deansgate (Liverpool Road, Chester Road, Great Jackson street) and Castlefield in response to ongoing concerns raised by local residents, businesses, and road users about unsafe driving and vehicle‑related offences in the city centre.

Throughout the deployment, several vehicles were stopped, resulting in a number of enforcement actions:

3 x TORs (Traffic Offence Report) issued for vehicle registration plates not conforming to legal standards

1 x TORs issued for illegal window tints

1 x TOR issued for no insurance

1 x TOR issued for Use of Mobile phone whilst driving

1 x TOR issued for no driving licence

2 x vehicles seized under Section 165 of the Road Traffic Act

one stop and search, which resulted in a positive find and was dealt with by way of Community Resolution

These operations are part of our continued commitment to improving road safety, reducing antisocial driving, and ensuring that vehicles using our roads are safe and compliant.

We will continue to carry out targeted activity in the area to address community concerns and keep Deansgate safe for everyone.
